How it all started...
During his adolescence, Quentin Petties received a powerful prophecy from his grandparents, Deacon Levi and Mother Mary Howery, affirming that God had called and chosen him for a special purpose, if he would only surrender to His will. At the tender age of 13, Quentin experienced a profound encounter with God, as he was filled with the Holy Spirit and called to serve as a pastor. From that moment on, God began to shape and refine Quentin over the course of his teenage and young adult years, under the loving guidance of his grandmother, Bishop Jennie L. Petties. During an intensive two-year training period, Quentin immersed himself in the study of scripture, diligently dissecting passages and learning the art of ministry, akin to riding in the second chariot.
In 2005, Quentin received his ministerial license, marking an important milestone in his journey. Then, on January 1, 2012, through a solemn ceremony of laying on of hands, Quentin was officially ordained to preach and teach the word of God, under the spiritual leadership of Bishop J. Petties, Pastor Dr. Constance Shorter, Pastor Dr. Richard Nelson, and other esteemed mentors.
In 2018, Quentin experienced another divine encounter, prompting him to seek counsel from his pastor about his renewed sense of calling to lead God's people. This inner struggle was compounded by Quentin's deep roots within the church, where his family had played a foundational role alongside his grandmother's leadership.
It was during a visit to Washington D.C. in September of 2022 that Quentin encountered an unfamiliar yet prophetic voice: Senior Pastor Brandon Hill of Transformation Christian Fellowship. In a moment of profound revelation, Pastor Hill spoke directly to Quentin about the calling on his life, sparking tears of conviction and purpose during the service. That very night, Quentin experienced a vivid dream wherein he heard the words "Destiny Changers." Upon awakening, he was compelled to have his wife, Maliya Petties, create a t-shirt bearing these words.
With each passing night, Quentin found himself drawn deeper into God's calling, as he was led to reflect on scriptures such as Jeremiah 29:11 and Ephesians 4:11-16. Unable to ignore the unmistakable hand of God any longer, Quentin embraced his destiny wholeheartedly, thus birthing Destiny Changers Christian Fellowship—a testament to God's unwavering faithfulness and Quentin's obedience to His divine will.
